Dhriti's diary_ June 2026,Kolkata
I’ve been keeping a diary of my little girl, and this is one memory I never want to forget.
Our annual June trip to Kolkata is a tradition we look forward to every year. This year, however, was extra special because we organized a small gathering for Dhriti to meet her family and friends. At just 9 months old, Dhriti has been showing signs of stranger and crowd anxiety. I was convinced she would spend the entire event crying in the arms of unfamiliar faces. But, as always, she had her own plans. The day, 21st June, began with relentless rain. Kolkata was completely drenched, and the gloomy weather made us wonder how the day would unfold. By 1 p.m., our guests started arriving. To our delight, Dhriti surprised us all. She remained calm, with only the occasional little cry. She happily greeted the people she recognized, carefully chose a few lucky ones whose laps she wanted to sit on, and after nearly two hours of socializing, peacefully drifted off to sleep. Watching her adapt with such quiet confidence filled my heart with pride. Moments like these remind me how resilient and brave this little girl already is.
Here are a few pictures from this beautiful day—memories of a very special milestone and of the little girl who continues to amaze me every single day. ❤️
